Here is a list of things that your Warsaw, IN landscape will need as we move into fall.

  1. Fall in Warsaw, IN brings some of the best weather conditions for starting new plantings.  As the weather cools and the days get shorter, many plants grow roots deeper into the soils more easily so now is a great time to install a new landscape, renovate your existing landscape, or transplant some of your existing plant material.  Now is also a good time to overseed your lawn.
  2. Propagate.  Are there any plants in your Syracuse, IN landscaping that you would like to reproduce?  How about taking cutting before the first frost?  Now is a good time to do both if you live in Warsaw, IN or Syracuse, IN.
  3. Germinate.  Fall is a great time to plant seeds or overseed your lawn.  Now is also a good time to start a wildflower garden from seed.
  4. Frost Protection. In Warsaw, IN, frost and potential freezing isn’t far off and your delicate plants will need some protection if you want them to look good next season.
  5. Feeding.  If you own a home in Warsaw or Syracuse, fall is a great time to fertilize your plants so they aren’t nutrient deficient next spring.  Use fertilizers made specifically for the plant.  Fall is also the best time of year to feed your lawn.  Need a lawn fertilization program?  We can help you there as well.
  6. Weeds.  Don’t be afraid to put down some more pre-emergent herbicide in your landscape beds that will give you even better weed control next spring and summer.

Eco Friendly Brick Pavers in Winona Lake, IN and the Village of Winona

Eco Friendly Brick Pavers in Winona Lake, IN

Eco Friendly Brick Pavers can provide solutions to many problems that homeowners in Warsaw, Winona Lake, Syracuse & Culver have especially if they live on one of our many lakes.  Have a low lying parking area that holds water?  Even if it’s not a low area, these Turfstone Brick Pavers make a great parking area that eliminates water run off.

This project was installed in the Village of Winona in beautiful Winona Lake, IN.  The goal of this project was to create additional parking for guests visiting the Village.

This eco friendly paving system is installed on a compact base of limestone that allows the water falling from the sky to drain freely and be reclaimed back into the existing soils underneath.  The open cores of the brick are filled with soil and then planted with a special blend of grass seed.  After a few weeks, you can see germination of the grass and within a couple months you can park cars on the surface.

Cores are filled with soils and planted with grass seed.

This area now provides parking for about 15-20 cars or trucks for visitors in the Village of Winona.  We also installed some landscape plantings to help soften the edges of the parking area.  Thank you to the Village of Winona, the Town of Winona Lake, and all the shops in the Village!  We appreciate the opportunity to help create a lasting space that will help with overflow parking and the environment.

Fall Fertilization Is Most Important For Your Warsaw & Syracuse Lawn

The final application of the season is the most important if you want to have a nice looking lawn next spring for your Warsaw, IN and Syracuse, IN lawns.  The winterizer application is a quick release fertilizer that is designed to be absorbed quickly into the root system of the plant so that it has plenty of food next spring when the lawn wakes up.  Why is this so important?  Weeds in your lawn wake up earlier than your grass or lawn.  If the weeds wake up sooner and start germinating and growing before the lawn and become stronger, they will begin to take over the healthy lawn and create problems for your grass.  When your lawn is weak, disease and weeds will begin to take over.  There isn’t an instant gratification after applying the final round of fertilizer like instant greening of the lawn, but it is vitally important for your lawns in Warsaw, Syracuse, Winona Lake, Ft. Wayne, Columbia City, Culver, and North Webster.
